Daniel Price called the meeting to order at 7:00 pm. This meeting was held at the city park under the pavilion. We had a co meeting along with Ducks Unlimited for the purpose of getting both organizations more involved with each other. We ate hotdogs and pizza and mingled with the Wildlife Society members and Ducks Unlimited members. After we ate Daniel talked about a few volunteer events that are coming up in the near future. The TWA Big Game Awards needs our help in Abilene on Sat. September 13th. We will be leaving Stephenville at 8am and will be there until about 8pm. On Sat. September 20th the National Wild Turkey Federation wants us to help with a JAKES event at the LBJ Grasslands in Decatur. We will need to be there by 7:30 am and the event will end at noon. We will be helping with two different booths. One will be the archery booth with TPWD and we are going to have a skins and skulls booth along with radio telemetry. We will also be going to Cedar Hill State Park on Sat. September 27th for an Hispanic outreach program. We will be helping run the laser shot booth from 8am-2pm. For more information about helping with these events contact Daniel Price. The national meeting of The Wildlife Society is being held November 8-12 in Miami, Florida. We are still making plans to go so if you are interested in going please contact Amy Potts for more info. Also, Daniel talked about our Wild Game Dinner that we are going to have on October 18th at the Quality Inn. We need to get donations for raffle and silent auction items asap so start asking people if they can donate. We also could use meat donations. Daniel told everyone about the list serve and how to join. This is our main way of communicating with our members. More info can be found about how to join on the website. Our next meeting will be September 23rd in room 113 of the ag building at 7pm. We will have pizza and will be doing planning of our Wild Game Dinner.
