The meeting was called to order by Travis Sagebiel (President) who started with the discussion of TSU’s and the SWS’s upcoming events, which were:
· Relay for Life – Nov. 6th
· Texan Tour – Nov. 7th
· Halloween Carnival – Oct. 29th
· Wild Game Dinner – Oct. 23rd
Chad Wilson started the discussion about the upcoming Wild Game Dinner this Friday at 5pm out at Melody Mountain Ranch. First, members were asked to give updates on how ticket sales were going. Then Dawson, Zac, and Reagan gave an update on where they were on meat donations and cooking. The cooking team asked if anyone would be interested in volunteering to cook a pot roast or letting them borrow a crock pot for the night of the dinner. As of tonight they had axis, sika, pronghorn, gar, elk, black bear, wildebeest, quail, pheasant, dove, kingfish, squirrel, and white-tailed deer. After the update from the meats committee Chad said that there would need to be volunteers to take dinner tickets, raffle tickets, and to run meat from the pits to the hall.
On the day of the event there needs to be volunteers to help decorate and set-up the hall, a sign-up sheet is at the front of the room for times to volunteer. Officers and any volunteers need to be at the field lab to pick up tables, chairs, and other items for the dinner on Friday morning. We discussed having a slideshow for the dinner as well and Randi Baldwin said she would be in charge of that. The advertising committee (Megan Zoch and Brooke Williams) as of this meeting had given 2 free tickets to KSTV to give out over the air and was still continuing advertising throughout the community.
After updates about the dinner were over with we spent the remainder of the time getting to know the members in the room.
