A Master of Education degree is a symbol of professional accomplishment
We encourage you to consider continuing your professional growth by pursuing a graduate degree after you finish the TMATE program. Depending on the employing school district's policy, Texas teachers who possess a Master of Education (MEd) degree may receive higher pay than teachers with only a bachelor's degree.
To receive your Master of Education in Curriculum and Instruction, you must successfully complete a minimum of 36 semester hours of graduate coursework and other requirements defined in the Handbook for Graduate Students.
In order for your TMATE courses to apply toward the MEd., you must:
- declare that you are pursuing a Master of Education in Curriculum and Instruction when you apply to TMATE
- meet the College of Graduate Studies requirements to pursue a master degree
- provide GRE scores for admission
With some of your TMATE courses counting toward the 36 hours of credit, you will be well on your way toward completing a master's degree in Curriculum & Instruction at Tarleton State University when you finish the TMATE program.
