My life will never be the same. I fell in love with my chosen profession and all the challenges I wake up to face every day. The least of my worries was teaching content. That is the easy part. . .
Teaching is more difficult than I thought. I now see that teaching is hard work. It is also a tremendous responsibility and not to be taken lightly. I must go into the classroom every day being prepared and confident. Molding young minds is a serious task requiring considerable energy, enthusiasm and patience.
You could make the difference in a child's life!
The Tarleton Model for Accelerated Teacher Education (TMATE) program helps highly motivated people who already have a bachelor's degree become certified teachers in Texas.
With small classes and personal attention, TMATE offers thorough preparation for classroom teaching. The pre-internship graduate level courses introduce you to the art and science of teaching. During your paid internship year, a mentor teacher and TMATE staff provide advice and encouragement while you apply what you are learning in the fall and spring classes.
TMATE's reputation as an exemplary teacher certification program and the classroom success of its almost 2,000 graduates make TMATE participants very attractive candidates for school districts seeking to hire beginning teachers.
Alternative teacher certification programs like TMATE are regulated by the State Board for Educator Certification (SBEC). You can't just "take a test and become a certified teacher." You must complete an approved program.
So...MAKE THE DIFFERENCE...let TMATE help you become more than just a teacher, become an education professional!
