One of the hardest things about starting a new job is learning the jargon -- the unique terms -- that all the experienced people take for granted. It's like visiting an unfamiliar country where you're always a little worried because you're not confident you understand everything the natives are saying. And the natives are so accustomed to talking the way they talk that they don't always stop and explain what they mean.
While you're visiting the TMATE website, you might encounter terms and abbreviations that teacher preparation faculty and certification staff use but that may not make sense to you. The online glossaries shown in the links to the right should provide basic information to help you feel more comfortable with the prospect of becoming a teacher.
