English Placement? Use of the ACT/SAT essay might meet your department’s

need for students to be assessed on an essay. We could request that Tarleton

require applicants for Fall 2006 to submit writing scores on these essays for

“placement” [i.e. not admission].A list of institutions that will require the ACT

essay is available at http://actrs19.act.org/app3/writPrefRM. Additionally, a list of

institutions that will require the SAT essay is located at
