Tarleton State University: Texas Success Initiative (TSI) Plan

The State of Texas specifies minimum standards to determine academic readiness in the skill areas of reading, writing, and mathematics. Placement information in all three areas will be provided during orientation/registration.  In addition to providing the State minimums, the State allows each university to establish higher standards as part of the required Texas Success Initiative (TSI) Plan.  Students who have not met Tarleton’s TSI plan standards in the area of mathematics will receive more information during the fall semester concerning the institution’s requirements for demonstrating “college readiness” in this area.
