Staff Affairs
Chairman Jim Looby, Co-Chair Sheri Boren
Staff Affairs is responsible for reviewing the University committee structure and staff assignments, making recommendations on staff representation. The Committee also has the responsibility of polling the Tarleton staff on issues of critical interest or importance and reporting the results to the Staff Council for action or recommendation. This committee hosts COFFEE WITH THE COUNCIL , a forum providing you an opportunity to discuss issues of concern to you and the Tarleton family.
Staff Development
Chairman Melet Price, Co-Chairman Susan Gordon
Staff Development Committee explores the opportunities the University and staff face in building a strong and productive relationship. Examine what works, what hinders, and what sustains this relationship and offer a set of practices and activities that can contribute to a positive working partnership between staff and the University, ie. Staff Enrichment Day, Summer Development Luncheon, others as selected by committee.
Employee Recognition
Chairman Sylvia Hampton, Co-Chairman Linda Kent
The Employee Recognition Committee is charged with the implementation of programs and/or procedures which will recognize the accomplishments of the staff community. The Employee of the Month/Employee of the Year program was established in the Fall of 1996. For additional information, you can view nomination criteria for Employee of the Month or selection criteria for Employee of the Year. You may print a copy of the nomination form or request one through the Employee Recognition Committee at Box T-0310.
Public Relations
Chairman Jennifer Barrera
The Public Relations Committee is responsible for keeping the Staff Council Web Page information current and accurate. The committee is also responsible for producing a Staff Council brochure annually to be distributed at the beginning of each fiscal year. In addition the committee may be called on to assist other committees and officers with visibility and public relations publicity which could include flyers, announcements, newsletters, and other.
Special Events
Chairman Shelly Brown, Co-Chairman Maureen Scantling
Special Events Committee serves the staff of Tarleton State University and the surrounding community in creating and communicating professional opportunities and to assist in developing leaders and better citizens who will challenge and enrich the future of the University and the community, ie. Holiday Showcase, Festival of Trees, and others as selected by the committee.
Healthy Campus Task Force
Chairman Sheri Boren, Co-Chairman Christi Pfau
This committees job description has not been written, it was just formed last week. They will be working with recycling, wellness for all Tarleton employees and helping make the university become green friendly.
