I retired as a Lieutenant Colonel from the Army, after a very successful and rewarding 20-year career. Throughout my military career, I served in various leadership, command, and staff positions, up through US Army and NATO Corps level. After my retirement from active service, I accepted a position as a Department of the Army civilian, serving as a project manager with the mission of developing, designing, coordinating, team building, budgeting, and conducting operational equipment testing, as one of the first steps in the military equipment acquisition process. Recently, I served as a project director and change agent for my organization and the US Army, as a trained Lean Six Sigma Black Belt.
I continued to develop my management and leadership skills and knowledge through my life-long continuous education. I earned my bachelors from the University of Nebraska at Omaha, Omaha, Nebraska, and a Master of Science in Management Science from University of Central Texas, in Killeen, Texas. I also earned a Master of Business Administration from Saint Martin’s University, in Lacey, Washington. Finally, I am a University of Phoenix alumnus, earning my Doctor of Business Administration in 2008.
As an assistant professor with Tarleton State University – Central Texas, in the Management, Marketing and Administrative Systems department, I instruct statistics, business research methods, and production and operations management. I am always ready and willing to assist those with the desire to achieve their academic goals by sharing my experiences in management and leadership.
I reside in Killeen, Texas, although, I am originally from Council Bluffs, Iowa. I am married and have two children, two cats, and three dogs. My daughter is married and resides in St. Petersburg, Florida and my son joined the Texas Army National Guard as a military policeman and is currently attending Central Texas College / Tarleton State University – Central Texas to attain a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice. My wife is also an educator at an elementary school, here in Killeen, Texas.
