Academic Advising

Services

 

Once fully implemented, it is our intent that Academic Advising Services will provide academic advising for all undergraduate students except for students on the Killeen/Gatesville campuses. These services will most likely include:


1. Course selection recommendations including:


A.     Review of Texas Success Initiative (TSI) and   freshman-level MATH/ENGL placement/enrollment           requirements
B.     Core Curriculum
C.     Degree program specific requirements


2. Development of Degree Plan, Course Substitution, and Graduation Check-Out forms for approval by appropriate academic departments.


3. Point of contact and referral resource for:


A.    Academic Support Programs, University Testing, Student Success Programs, and Student Disability Services
B.    Career Services, Counseling Center, and Health Center
C.    Financial Aid and Scholarships

D.    Drops and Withdrawal processes

Once fully implemented, it is our intent that Academic Support Programs will provide the following additional services for all students These additional services will most likely include:


1. Expanded Supplemental Instruction Program


2. Test Preparation Program (e.g. TSI & GRE)


3. Cost-Share Tutoring Program
