The Tarleton State University Office of Scholarships is committed to providing assistance to students in pursuit of their education.

Scholarships are awarded for academic ability and achievement, demonstrated leadership, ability to perform (music, band, etc.), extracurricular activities, financial need, and other criteria as defined by specific scholarship programs.

More than 400 different endowed, local, departmental, and other scholarships are available to students attending Tarleton State University. Tarleton has one application for all scholarships. Scholarship applications are sent to the various scholarship committees based on the information provided on the application.

Any student receiving institutional scholarships valued at $4,000 or more is generally not eligible for other institutional scholarships.

Presidential Honors Scholarship Program

The Presidential Honors Program Scholarship is Tarleton State University's most prestigious scholarship. The scholarship is currently valued at $7,000 per academic year for four years. Incoming students ranked in the top 10% of their high school graduating class with SAT scores of 1190 (math and verbal) or higher or ACT composite scores of 27 or higher are eligible to apply for the Presidential Honors Program. ROTC Scholarships

The Texan Battalion is part of the Army Reserve Officer Training Corps or ROTC commissioning program. ROTC is the world’s premier leadership development program and is the largest commissioning source for the United States Army. There are 2, 3, and 4 year scholarships available through Army ROTC which are awarded to students on a highly competitive selection basis. Scholarships benefits are the following:

Pays Full tuition and Mandatory Fees 
$900 per year book allowance
Cash stipend (Tax free pay) in the amount of $300 per month for freshmen, $350 for sophomores, $450 for juniors, and $500 for seniors (500.00 a month for graduate students)
