Tarleton State University is committed to encouraging and supporting faculty and student research. Tarleton’s mission is “to provide an academically challenging educational experience through effective teaching, scholarship, research and service. . .” and the university's “educational programs emphasize teaching excellence, faculty-student research, and student service.”
The Office of Sponsored Projects (OSP) provides oversight, coordination and assistance to enable junior and senior faculty and students obtain public and private funding to support their research and scholarship.
OSP staff:
- Identify potential funding opportunities.
- Coordinate activity to avoid duplicate and conflicting efforts.
- Suggest members for interdisciplinary project teams.
- Facilitate project team meetings.
- Review and edit letters of intent, proposals, and applications.
- Prepare grant proposal outlines and draft proposals for faculty review and refinement.
- Prepare and review grant budgets and budget narratives.
- Confirm that grant application packages are complete and consistent with university policies.
- Track grant application packages through Tarleton’s internal review process.
- Insure that grant applications are submitted on time.
