To file, the graduation candidate must complete an application for graduation and graduation checkout form. Students may visit the Graduation Information area of the Registrar's website for more details regarding graduation.
Timely Graduation
Graduating in a timely manner can save students thousands of dollars. The State of Texas has implemented legislation that all state supported institutions must comply with. Some of these programs have benefits for students who graduate in a timely manner, while others have consequences. It is very important that students are aware of these programs and stay on their academic track. Students who unnecessarily drop classes, change their major often, take classes unrelated to their major, and often repeat classes may be charged additional fees. The following are programs that Tarleton State University has implemented due to this legislation. Students should review this information carefully so they can plan to graduate in a reasonalbe time frame and save thousands of dollars.
Those affected by the Undergraduate Funding Limit rule and 3 Peat rule have the option to file an appeal. Visit the Registrar's website to see Who is eligible to file an appeal, and the Steps for filing an appeal.
Student Disability Services
Students with disabilities may request appropriate accommodation by contacting the Director of Student Disability Services in the Mathematics Building, Room 201, at (254) 968-9400. Formal accommodation requests cannot be made until the student has been admitted to Tarleton. However, students are encouraged to make initial contact well in advance of this time to clarify documentation requirements and to allow time to arrange possible accommodations.
The policy of Tarleton State University is to comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act and other federal, state, and local laws. The Office of Disability Services fully supports this policy. Applicants for admission are not required to disclose disability status in the admission process. Information related to a disability that has been released to the Disability Services Office is not used in the admission review process.
Change of Name or Address
Currently enrolled students who have changed their names should fill out a Permanent Record Update Form and submit it to the Registrar's office for processing. Proper documentation (marriage certificate, divorce decree, etc) must be submitted with the permanent record update form as required by the Registrar's office.
Currently enrolled students may change their mailing address through DuckTrax.
Official notification and accurate reporting of a student's name and mailing address is necessary for proper identification of student records, and the mailing of correspondence, grade reports, graduation information, etc.
