Student Travel

1. OVERVIEW

Tarleton State University is supportive of student activities both on and off campus, but also recognizes that the safety of its students is of utmost importance.  This concern includes all student travel to and from the university.  The requirements outlined in this rule apply to travel that is more than 25 miles from campus by one or more students presently enrolled at Tarleton to an activity or event that is organized and sponsored by Tarleton and that is: funded by Tarleton using a vehicle owned or leased by Tarleton; or sponsored by a student organization registered at Tarleton.  (Examples of vehicles include cars, vans, buses, or planes that are either owned by Tarleton or are rented through commercial agencies.)  Students traveling on behalf of Tarleton must obtain prior approval through the appropriate office.
