Expanding the Central Plant Loop will involve digging up the campus to extend the chilled and hot water supply around the campus to the buildings which are being added.

NEW / CURRENT INFORMATION:
November 10th: Vanderbilt is now open for vehicular traffic. Please proceed with caution, construction is still continuing on both sides of Vanderbilt.
HISTORY:
Oct. 27th/Nov. 3rd: On Wednesday evening November 4th a Construction Fence will be going up in the P30 Parking Lot between Tarleton Street and Lillian Street. The sidewalks on Tarleton, Lillian, and Washington Streets will be open for Pedestrian traffic. Handicap and Reserved Parking will be relocated to the North side of P30 next to Tarleton Street.
Parking Lot P21 in front of the Police Station is now open.
October 16th: A Construction Fence will be going up in the P16 Parking Lot on the South side of Traditions Hall and Environmental Services. The sidewalk on the south side of Traditions Hall and beside Environmental Services, as well as the current sidewalk on the East side of Wisdom Gym is still accessible to Pedestrian Traffic. There is Wheelchair access to the sidewalks on the Southeast corner of the parking lot. The circle drive on the Northwest corner will still be open for daycare drop off.
Construction will be finished in Parking Lot P15 by Monday the 19th. Vanderbilt Street sidewalks will be repaired and opened up soon for Pedestrian Traffic.
September 15th: Vanderbilt Street is temporarily closed to all Vehicular traffic. Construction Fence has extended to close off Vanderbilt across from the Police Station and around P-21 Parking Lot. Front of Police Station is still accessible as well as through any of the Wisdom Gym entrances: follow signs. The walkway leading into the Science Building Main Entrance is still open to Pedestian traffic. There is also a fence going up on the West side of the Clyde H. Wells Fine Arts Complex.
September 8th: On Monday September 14th Vanderbilt Street will be closed to all Vehicular traffic. Crosswalks on Vanderbilt will still be accessible for Pedestrian traffic. A fence will be going up around P-21 Parking Lot (front of Police Station is not accessible). The Police Station is accessible through any of the Wisdom Gym entrances: follow signs. There is also a fence going up on the West side of the Clyde H. Wells Fine Arts Complex.
August 18th: Construction Fence extended on South West side of Science Building. Sidewalk at West end of Vanderbilt is closed due to Construction Fence.
August 10th: Construction Fence is going up in front of Control Center. Temporary sidewalk was build for Pedestrian traffic; from Cain street sidewalk to entrance.
August 4th: Barricade is going up East side of the Fine Arts Building/South West corner of P-15 Parking Lot. Leads to construction area.

July 28th: The Construction fences South of the Science Bldg. will extend Westward to the location for the new Nursing Bldg. The sidewalk on the North side of Vanderbilt will remain open at this time. Two pedestrian sidewalks will be blocked; these are the sidewalks near the Nursing Bldg. fence and the sidewalk that leads into the Southwest entrance of the Science Bldg. Excavation of underground utilities in this area will begin this week.
The new Construction fencing is South of Vanderbilt Street between Traditions and Wisdom Gym. Two areas will be set up here. The sidewalk on the South side of Vanderbilt Street will remain open during this period and the sidewalk nearest the Police Station entrance will remain open as a walkway for the Police Station traffic and access to the Athletic Department. Excavation of underground utilities in this area will begin this week.
July 14th: The construction fence will be going up on the South West corner of the Science Building on July 17, 2009. Please refer to the map.
July 7th: The construction fence will be going up North of the Autry - Agriculture Building, West of the Math Building on Thursday July 9, 2009 at 8:00 a.m. Please refer to the map. Please see the parking areas that will be needed to relocate. All parking permit holders should have been contacted by the Police Dept. The Ramp will be available on the West side of the Math building for Pedestrian traffic.
Potholing activities will begin as early as Monday July 13, 2009. There are 5 locations in this phase. Please see the map for exact locations. The potholes are at the northeast corner of the Autry - Agriculture Building, East of the Environmental Services Building; 2 locations West of the Fine Arts Building and West of Davis Hall.
Potholing is where the contractor digs a hole to locate underground utilities or digs next to a building so the piping entrance to that building can be constructed ahead of the pipe arriving at the building.
