For more than one hundred years, Tarleton State University has served as an important center of music education in North Central Texas. Today we continue to provide a first-rate education for students who expect to become professional musicians as well as a variety of opportunities for general university students. Our pursuit of quality is, of course, a goal shared by many other institutions across the state, but we have looked for ways to add something unique that is not available elsewhere. That "something" is not any single aspect, but a combination of features: quality teaching, inexpensive tuition, a beautiful facility with state-of-the-art music computer labs, a friendly and supportive learning environment, and a strong performance component for each and every music major, regardless of the type of degree being pursued.
