 An Overview of Qualitative Research
Objectives:
  1. Compare and contrast quantitative and qualitative research, including philosophies, characteristics and research processes;
  2. Identify and describe common qualitative research approaches;
  3. Compare and contrast validity, reliability and generalizability in qualitative and quantitative research;
  4. Explain different methods of validating qualitiatve research; and
  5. Discuss the importance of ethical guideposts of qualitative research.

 
Activities:
  1. Read the chapter 14: Overview of Qualitative Research
  2. Review the Power Point Presentation for the chapter on the Companion Website.
  3. Read this paper on Qualitative Research Approaches utilized in Agricultural Education research.
  4. Complete these questions and have them ready to submit a the beginning of class.
