Find BOOKS, JOURNALS, DOCUMENTS, REPORTS, AV MATERIALS:

Tarleton State University Libraries Catalog - Database of all items owned by Tarleton Libraries. Look here for books, journal titles, government documents and reports, videos, CDs, etc. Searching by author, keyword, subject, and title is available.

WorldCat - (in FirstSearch Core) Database of books and other materials in libraries worldwide. WorldCat contains more than 32 million records describing items owned by libraries around the world. If Tarleton does not own these items, they can be requested through Inter-Library Loan.

Find ARTICLE CITATIONS and some FULL-TEXT JOURNAL ARTICLES:

Academic Search Complete - Indexes and abstracts over 3,800 journals in nearly all academic areas of study. Provides full text coverage, full-page images, and color embedded images. Examples of education-related journals are American Journal of Education, American School and University, Elementary School Journal, High School Journal, Higher Education, and Multimedia Schools.

Children's Literature Comprehensive - includes more than 130,000 reviews of children's   books-all full text.

Digital Dissertations - The database includes bibliographic citations for materials ranging from the first U.S. dissertation, accepted in 1861, to those accepted as recently as last semester. Citations for dissertations published from 1980 forward also include 350-word abstracts written by the author. Citations for master's theses from 1988 forward include 150-word abstracts. The full text of more than one million of these titles is available in paper and microform formats. Institutional subscribers to ProQuest Digital Dissertations receive on-line access to the complete file of dissertations in digital format starting with titles published from 1997 forward.

Education Research Complete - a collection of full text education journals. It is a bibliographic and full text database covering scholarly research and information relating to all areas of education. Topics covered include all levels of education from early childhood to higher education, and all educational specialties, such as multilingual education, health education, and testing. Education Research Complete also covers areas of curriculum instruction as well as administration, policy, funding, and related social issues.

ERIC (EBSCO) or ERIC (OCLC) or ERIC (CSA) - the U.S. Department of Education’s Educational Resource Information Center database (1966-current) - Offered through EBSCO and OCLC, this database contains citations and full-text articles from journal and research literature in the education field. Examples of education-related journals are Education Journal, Educational and Psychological Research, Schools in the Middle, Teacher Today, and Teaching/Learning Issues. Eric documents are now available free and full-text through ERIC Resources Information Center.

JSTOR - the goals of JSTOR are: To build a reliable and comprehensive archive of important scholarly journal literature, to improve dramatically access to these journals, to help fill gaps in existing library collections of journal backfiles, to address preservation issues such as mutilated pages and long-term deterioration of paper copy, to reduce long-term capital and operating costs of libraries associated with the storage and care of journal collections, and to assist scholarly associations and publishers in making the transition to electronic modes of publication.

Lexis-Nexis Academic Universe - Offers a "Legal Research" to allow searches of full-text federal, state, and international legal materials. Examples of education-related legal materials are legal news, reviews, cases, codes, and law.

Professional Development Collection - Offers a specialized collection designed for professional educators. It includes abstracts and index coverage for nearly 530 journals and full text coverage of nearly 440 journals. The collection offers information on many topics such as pedagogical theory and practice, and children's development. Examples of education-related journals are Changing English: Studies in Reading & Culture, Childhood Education, Assessment in Education: Principles, Policy & Practice, and Comparative Education.

PsycINFO - Covers professional and academic literature in psychology and related disciplines including education, psychiatry, sociology, linguistics, and others. Coverage is worldwide and includes references and abstracts to over 1400 journals. Examples of education-related journals are Education, Education & Treatment of Children, Professional School Counseling, and School Psychology Review.

Psychology Journals - excellent information for educational psychology, and testing from professional journals.

ScienceDirect - Provides access to research in the sciences and covers a wide range of disciplines pertinent to education research: chemistry, environmental science, mathematics, computer science, earth sciences, social sciences, biological sciences, and more. Examples of education-related journals are Health Education Research, International Journal of Language and Communication Disorders, Journal of School Psychology, and Teaching and Teacher Education.

Wiley Interscience - Scientific and scholarly full text online database which includes education journals that primarily cover higher education.
