GUIDELINES FOR SUBMISSION OF PROPOSALS
Langdon Review of the Arts in Texas publishes poetry, short
stories, essays, creative non-fiction, photography, and art. As a
multi-disciplined journal, we hope that each issue demonstrates the
diversity and varied creativity of artists who have a Texas connection.
The main
goal of the Langdon Review is
to provide a venue for the promotion and appreciation of the arts in
Texas. We want to inform our readers about artistic endeavors that
might have gone unheralded. We want to showcase writers and artists who
have a Texas connection by publishing a considerable range of their
work (10 – 12 poems by one poet; 7 -8 photographs by one photographer,
for example). Editors of the Langdon
Review do not accept unsolicited manuscripts; however, we
welcome proposals and letters of inquiry.
PROPOSALS ONLY, PLEASE
Langdon Review proposals are refereed by the editors, in
conjunction with select members of the Langdon Review Editorial Board.
Proposals are judged on their importance, originality, timeliness,
scope, accuracy, and style. Submitters wishing to be considered for
poetry, short stories, photography, and art should send a letter of
inquiry and a vita. Please keep in mind that we do not publish
previously published works. Please be sure that your letter of inquiry
includes your contact information with email, address, and phone
number. Essayists
should send a proposal summarizing their topic and explaining the how
it impacts the state of the arts in Texas. Do not send completed
manuscripts.
Payment is not
possible for contributions to the journal. Each author receives one
copy of the issue in which his or her work appears.
Sample copies of The Langdon Review
of the Arts in Texas are available for individuals submitting
proposals at the reduced rate of $10.00 (plus $2.00 shipping.)
