KAPPA OMICRON NU

Kappa Omicron Nu is a national honorary society for students majoring in any field in Family and Consumer Sciences.  Any student at Tarleton majoring in Human Sciences can become a member of Kappa Omicron Nu by completing 45 semester hours, having at least a 3.0 cumulative GPA and being in the top 25% of the department's majors.  Students who meet these requirements are invited to join during each long semester.  The society meets monthly and has social and service activities at various times during the semester.  A formal initiation is held each fall for new members.

TARLETON ASSOCIATION OF FAMILY AND CONSUMER SERVICES (TAFCS)

Membership in TAFCS is open to all students interested in the field of Human Sciences.  The purpose of the organization is to provide a social and professional affiliation for those persons interested in broadening their knowledge of the Human Sciences profession.  General business meetings are held a minimum of two times each semester with socials and service activities held monthly or as scheduled.  Officers are elected each November to serve the Spring and Fall semesters of the following year.  For information about joining contact the Human Sciences office.
