Fashion Merchandising

The Fashion Merchandising support area Human Sciences degree program prepares the student to participate in many levels of the fashion world.  Graduates of the program have secured jobs in retail sales and management with established companies or in a personal business, as manufacturer's representatives (wholesale sales), as assistant designers, as product managers, as models, in personnel management, in museums, and in teaching and the Texas Cooperative Extension Service.

The degree program for the Fashion Merchandising support area prepares the student with a major in Human Sciences, emphasizing clothing and fashion merchandising courses, a minor in Business Administration, a selection of core Human Sciences courses, and the university's required core curriculum.  There is an emphasis on hands-on learning throughout the program, and students are required to do a senior internship.  Internship experiences often lead directly into post-graduate career placements.
