DEFINED

The Technology Applications curriculum focuses on providing educators with the skills to teach courses in desktop publishing, digital graphics/animation, multimedia, video technology, and web mastering. Culminating courses concentrate on the integration of technology into curriculum and instruction. CERTIFICATION OPTIONS

The Technology Applications Certification is offered at both undergraduate and graduate levels. Students enrolled in graduate certification track have the opportunity to earn the Master of Education in Curriculum and Instruction degree with an emphasis in Technology Applications by completing the additional 15-hour core course requirement.

In addition to the courses required for Technology Applications certification, a graduate degree may be obtained by completing the following courses:

FAQs

1. I’m interested in the courses, but I’m not very computer literate. Is it possible for me to do well with my limited knowledge?

Absolutely! We recognize that students’ technology skills vary, but you’ll be surprised how quickly you progress!

2. What class should I take first, or does it matter?

The COMMS, ENGL, and some CIS courses can be taken anytime. The EDTC and selected CIS courses are designed to be taken at the end of your coursework.

3. Can I take classes via the internet?

Yes. Several classes will be delivered online.

4. Is there a Technology Applications program for middle school teachers?

Not at this time. However, the knowledge and skills obtained from the courses previously mentioned are very appropriate for middle school.

5. I’m not really interested in getting another certification, but I am interested in learning more about technology integration. Is there a class I can take?

Yes. EDTC 3003 or 5493 would be perfect!
