Grants
Academic Competitiveness Grant (ACG) A grant program funded by federal allocation offered to Federal Pell Grant recipients who meet certain academic and other eligibility criteria. Grand awards up to $750 are offered for the first academic year of a student's program of study, and awards up to $1,300 are offered for the second academic year of a student's program of study. First year recipients must not have been previously enrolled in a program of undergraduate education, and must have completed their secondary school program of study after January 1, 2006. Second year recipients must have at least a 3.00 cumulative grade point average, and must have completed their secondary school program after January 1, 2005. All Academic Competitiveness Grant recipients must: be Pell Grant recipients, be U.S. citizens, be enrolled full time, have completed a rigorous secondary school program of study, and meet all other eligibility requirements. National SMART (Science and Mathematics Access to Retain Talent) Grant A grant program funded by federal allocation offered to Federal Pell Grant recipients who meet certain academic and other eligibility criteria. Grant awards up to $4,000 are offered for each of the third and fourth academic years of undergraduate study.
National SMART Grant recipients must: be Pell Grant recipients, be U.S. citizens, enrolled full time in a four year degree program, have at least a 3.00 cumulative grade point average, and be enrolled in an eligible (computer science, engineering, technology, life sciences, mathematics, physical science, designated foreign languages) major. TEXAS Grant Program The Toward EXcellence, Access & Success (TEXAS) grant was established in 1999 by the Texas Legislature to provide need-based financial assistance to Texas students who completed a college-preparatory curriculum in high school. Eligible students may receive an amount up to the cost of required tuition and fees each academic year of eligibility (some restrictions apply).
