Software Availability
Students who are enrolled in computer information systems courses are eligible to receive free software to assist in the completion of course assignments. The software offered is as follows:
- Microsoft Developer Network (MSDN). Through the department membership in the Microsoft Academic Alliance, software is available for CIS majors and students who are enrolled in CIS courses. This software includes Visio, Visual Studio, .NET applications, and Windows operating systems. In order to access the software, you must have a username/password to access the site https://msdn04.e-academy.com/tarleton_bus02 . All CIS majors receive a username/password at the beginning of each semester. Should you have questions, please contact the department secretary, Sharon Iley, at iley@tarleton.edu or 968-9047.
- MSDN also allows the students access to selected Microsoft Academy online training. A list of the available courses is located at http://www.microsoft.com/education/MSITAcademy/itastudentpass.mspx
- Oracle Software Oracle database software is available for CIS students through Tarleton s membership in the Oracle Academic Alliance. Please contact your professor or Sharon Iley.

EDP (Epsilon Delta Pi) Scholastic honor society for students with a desire to become computing professionals.
AITP (Association of Information Technology Professionals) offers opportunities for Information Technology (IT) leadership and education through partnerships with industry, government and academia. AITP provides quality IT related education, information on relevant IT issues, and forums for networking with experienced peers and other IT professionals.
