A Little Background on our AITP Reg. II Winners and Participates

Jason Smith

Senior CIS - Networking

Networking Competition : Company A had multiple nationwide sites and bought Company B - had to combine the 2 so that all users were on the same network, using the infrastructure that was already in place.

Leonard Foleen

Senior
Office Integration : We had to develop a system for a blood bank that monitored inventory
received and processed data on donors, and took requests from hospitals for
blood.

Ankit Garg
From : New Delhi , India
Senior CIS
Java Programming : I had a great experience at the conference. It was more than I expected. I had participated in two competitions - Java and Database Design. I secured
2nd Rank in both these competitions. The funny part is that I did not even
have a single book on me. I had no clue that books were allowed. But I suppose
it worked out pretty well for me otherwise. The faculty and students I had
gone along with were very cooperative and helpful. All in all, it was a new
and great experience for me. Would love to be a part of the group which heads
out to Detroit for the Nationals next year, thanks for the opportunity!

Neil Knauth

Junior
Java Programming : The project was to build a program that would read and store information about addresses and latitude and longitude and manipulate the data in several
different ways. The first and last steps were relatively easy, but the middle
three steps involved linking the program to a website, which proved much
harder. In the end, we were both satisfied with what we were able to
accomplish in the time given.

Nipun Maini
From : Rurka, Punjab , India
Senior
Database Design : It was a nicely organized competition. It gave me a taste of how it would be
to work in a professional world. It made me realize the true potential about
myself .We had to design a database for a Light Bulb company. In this we first had to
make the database schema and then the E-R diagram followed by actual
database. It was pretty nice working in a competitive environment.
