• Sign up at Career Services and we will make the connection between you and a workplace mentor.

• The goal is to provide students with knowledge of the workplace, career exploration, and the opportunity to gain an understanding of the relationship between their degree field and the practical workplace.
• Employers are expected to introduce their profession, industry or organization and exchange ideas with the student. Please tell the student about your responsibilities in the workplace, how you got started in your career, and maybe a tour of your workplace. Student really look forward to seeing you in your daily routine.
• Shadowing also helps students see how their textbook learning can be applied in the real world.
• Students can also learn much more about your company by experiencing it in the " trenches".

Students: Get Started

1. Simply complete the online STUDENT APPLICATION ,(be sure to fill out all RED areas) determine your areas of interest, decide how far you are willing to travel, and
2. Leave the rest to us!

• It is the student's responsibility to travel to the workplace visit.
• Students must have a resume critique on file with Career Services before being placed with an employer (contact Career Services for more information).
• Upon submission of your student application AND resume, please allow a 30 day turn around for placement.
• Once the shadow opportunity has been secured, you will be required to attend a workshop to sign your agreement and pick up your Texan Shadow packet.
• After the event, we would appreciate your feedback as we send you a short survey about your experience.
• Students are only allowed 1 Texan Shadow placement per semester.
