RATHBURN'S RAQUETBALL RECORD

I started keeping this record on October 6, 2000. Prior to this date I did not keep track of my wins and losses. All victories and losses prior to this date are not remembered--and there were plenty of each!! And with numerous opponents.

Getting on the list is somewhat optional. I reserve the right to decide when games are counted, but I am fair about it.

Only fully completed matches are counted, whether we play to 21, 15, 11 or whatever. We often get kicked off the court before a match is completed. Even if the leader is at match point and we get kicked off, the match does not count.

Now I count my cutthroat wins/losses/ties as follows:

If I win the game, I collect 2 victories.

If one opponent wins the game and I have more points than my second opponent, I have one win and one loss.

If one opponent wins the game and my second opponent has more points than I, then I record two losses. That is a rare event!

I prefer to play singles or cutthroat. It's too complicated to keep records against each individual opponent. Yet cutthroat and singles are different types of games, so I decided to keep separate records for them.

I don't care for doubles! But I will play when forced. Doubles matches are not recorded.

Comments about the game:

For awhile I'm going to play only on Fridays, assuming I don't have some stupid meeting to attend. Mondays and Wednesday I will train for the Mud Run on October 27.
Today it was 3 intense cutthroat matches. The first was cutthroat followed by two singles matches. I did not do so well in the first two matches, but I was intent upon winning the last match of singles...and I did.
Again, Dr Peter Bell did not show up to play. After promising to appear this very morning, he ditched! Third Friday in a row. What a WEENIE.

This is for non-TSU individuals, TSU alumni, and ex-students of TSU that I occassionally play. This includes you Ernie Pitts, Lane Sharp, Karl Havlak, Tim Brown, Jayaram Subramaniam, and Mark Plugge, if any of you can handle the Rathburn r-ball dynamo. Most of them seem to be weenies, and will not come to S'ville to play. All those below, except Tim B, Don D, and Cal H, live here in S'ville.
