Submit a current official high school transcript
Submit official SAT or ACT scores
Request and/or submit final official transcripts from all college level institutions previously attended. Coursework consolidated on one transcript does not meet this requirement
Submit official THEA, TASP, ASSET, COMPASS, SAT, ACT, or ACCUPLACER scores or provide proof of a valid exemption from the TSI requirement. Refer to TSI information regarding valid exemptions
Student Classifications on Application:
First-time Freshman student - applicant who has not accumulated college credit after high school
Transfer student - applicant is transferring coursework completed at another institution and is seeking a degree with Tarleton State University
Returning student - applicant has completed coursework with Tarleton State University and is returning after one or more long semester(s) absence
Transfer student with Tarleton credit - applicant has completed coursework with Tarleton State University and is returning after one or more long semester(s) absence and has completed coursework at another institution in the interim
Non-Degree Seeking student - applicant is not seeking a degree with Tarleton State University but intends to attend for more than one semester (non-degree seeking form required)
Transient student - applicant is not seeking a degree with Tarleton State University and only wishes to attend one semester (transient student form required) Student must have attended another institution (ex. Spring) and be returning to the same instituion the following semester (Fall) to attend as a Transient for the Summer.
Post Baccalaureate student - applicant has obtained a conferred Bachelor degree with an accredited institution and is either seeking a second degree or wishes to take courses of interest (post baccalaureate form required)

Pay a $25 non-refundable processing fee for Fall 2008. Effective September 1, 2008 for Spring 2009 forward, the Graduate Admissions application fee will be $30 (non-refundable).
Provide official transcripts from all institutions previously attended
Provide GRE or GMAT scores
Provide proof of residency (if requested)
Submit a 200-300-word essay addressing professional and career goals
Beyond these general requirements for admission to the College of Graduate Studies, departments may set additional standards for admission to degree programs as necessary, subject to administrative approval.
Students new to Tarleton State University-Central Texas are required to complete applications for admission. Once a student is admitted, they should make an appointment with an academic advisor to review degree plans.
Admission as a Non-Degree Student
Applicants who designate that they do not choose to seek a graduate degree but who hold a baccalaureate degree may be enrolled for course work in the College of Graduate Studies as Special non-degree-seeking graduate students. Students in this category waive the right to count more than 6 hours toward an advanced degree at Tarleton State University. In order to have any graduate course work count toward a master's degree, students must meet admission criteria to the College of Graduate Studies at the time application is made.
Doctoral Admissions
The doctoral admission process is a three-stage process.
Stage 1: Screening process - includes submission of all appropriate documents by the deadline APRIL 1. Stage 2: Evaluation process - review of a writing sample, and personal interviews. Stage 3: Selection stage - During stage 3, the admissions committee determines the applicants most appropriate for admissions to the doctoral program. Admission to the program is full admissions; there is no conditional or probationary status.
