Texan Orientation

Dates for Tarleton State University's seven Texan Orientation conferences have been released. Texan Orientation gives new students an opportunity to meet with faculty and staff, get advised, and pre-register for their Fall classes.

Duck Camp

Tarleton's Duck Camp is a great way for new students to meet fellow classmates and learn about the university's great traditions. For 2012, Tarleton will be offering three opportunities for incoming students to participate in Duck Camp. For more information, visit the Duck Camp website.

• Duck Camp I:July 8-10
• Duck Camp II: Aug. 3-5
• Duck Camp III: Aug. 11-13

Texan Transition Week

Beginning in Fall 2012, new Tarleton Texans will emerge on campus a week before classes begin (Aug. 19-26). Students will move into their residence halls on Aug. 19 and will experience a week full of activities designed to help them meet their academic and social objectives. The week will also guide students through the resources available to adjust to Tarleton's environment and culture. Below, please find dates and times for important Transition Week events. A full schedule and additional information is coming soon!

• New Freshman Move-in: Aug. 19, 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.
• Passing of the Pen: Aug. 19, 4 p.m.
• Transition Picnic: Aug. 19, 6 p.m.
• Convocation & Candle Lighting Ceremony: Aug. 26, 7:30 p.m.
