Grades 4- 8
Coursework within most degrees prepares applicants to have the necessary hours and content knowledge to teach in grades 4-8 and pass the appropriate TExES content exam. To be considered academically prepared, your certification area must meet the number of semester hours required for the content area and have at least a 2.75 grade point average (GPA) and no grade lower than a "C". None of these courses are required to be upper level hours. The certification areas in grades 4-8 are listed below and the coursework needed to qualify is linked.

- Science
- Social Studies
- Composite (combined) English Language Arts and Reading/Social Studies
