TMATE - Fort Worth ISD

If you select the FWISD program, you must commit to teaching in FWISD during your internship year. (If an internship position cannot be found for you in FWISD, the TMATE program will help you attempt to find a teaching job with another school district.) To meet specific FWISD requirements, you will take a slightly different sequence of courses than in the other programs.

Attending a TMATE-FWISD information meeting will give you:

  • an overview of the program, including the scope and sequence of activities and everyone's roles and responsibilities.
  • an explanation of the professional standards on which the program is based.
  • information about entry requirements, graduate credit received, test and deadline dates, and estimated costs.
  • a chance to ask questions about TMATE.

Being at an information meeting will introduce you to people like you who are considering becoming teachers, will help you make your decision about teaching, and will clarify the application process.

TMATE-FWISD courses are taught and program offices are at the Luella Merrett Elementary School. The program is co-managed by two coordinators: one representing Tarleton and one representing Fort Worth ISD.
