Wireless Coverage at Tarleton's Stephenville Campus
Where is wireless connectivity available on the Stephenville campus?
Tarleton offers wireless “hotspots” inside campus buildings for the convenience of our students, faculty and staff. Hotspots are areas designed to provide wireless coverage for a limited range of access. Tarleton hotspots are intended for basic connectivity to the internet -- for example to check your e-mail and browse the web.
Information Technology Services (ITS) is currently reviewing options to continue to expand the wireless coverage on the main campus.
Is wireless connectivity provided in the Residence Halls?
Internet services, including some wireless hotspots, for students residing in Residential Living and Learning facilities are provides by Apogee, Inc. For more information please refer to http://www.tarleton.edu/housing/technology.html.
Who can use the wireless network at Tarleton?
Tarleton students, faculty, and staff with valid Tarleton network credentials (NTNET logon ID and password) can access the wireless network on campus.
- “Texans-WebOnly”: This is an unencrypted network which allows access to the Internet, but university resources are limited to Blackboard and myGateway.
- “Texans-NTNET”: This is an encrypted network which also allows access to the Internet, as well as university resources, including email, T-drive, and for conducting university business.
Guests affiliated with the University who are sponsored by a Tarleton Faculty or Staff member may also access the wireless network on campus.
- If you have guests on campus (vendors, contractors, scholastic participants, etc.) please contact the Help Desk at 254-968-9885 (email@example.com) for instructions on how to sponsor a guest on the Tarleton Wireless Network. Once the account is established, the wireless option the guest will select is “Texans-WebOnly”. For more information, go to our General FAQ and view Guest/Visitor Accounts.
How do I use the wireless network at Tarleton?
View your available network connections to determine if Tarleton wireless is available in the desired location. If it is available, you will see two options, “Texans-WebOnly and Texans-NTNET”. Select the appropriate option and follow the prompts.
