Additional equipment options

  • Headsets – content forthcoming,
  • Customer pays full one-time cost for equipment and a $25 ordering/installation fee
  • Note:  This fee is not optional as a tech is required to install the equipment to ensure phone services are not interrupted.
  • Note:  Departments are responsible the cost and efforts to replace batteries and all other headset parts.  Batteries typically cost about $45.

Pager Services: 

  • -Monthly Cost, Services & monthly plans vary
  • -One time Cost to establish service, $25
  • -One time Cost to disconnect or change service, $10

Software changes:  Define it (examples are:  disconnect phone, change a key on a phone,

  • -One time cost of $10 per change, up to maximum cost per phone of $50.

Add or move a phone

  • -One time cost if Line & jack available, $50
  • -One time cost if installing a line & jack are required, $150
  • -Off campus locations, $25 + phone company charges

Change phone type:  Define it, $50

  • Handset cord or basecord exceeding 6 ft in length, $10

Communication Infrastructure Services

Voice or Data cabling – ITS provides all campus communication cabling.  All inside building (wall jack to the Network closet) cable is category 5 or 6 Ethernet cable. 

  • -The cost to install new lines is $150 per line
  • -Each new line includes a 10 foot patch cord to connect the computer to the jack.  If a longer patch cord is needed, there is an additional $25 cost.

Construction Projects – New or Remodeled

  • Campus Growth – ITS provides all campus communication backbone cabling which is cable between buildings or campus locations that eventually terminates back in the main campus  Computer Room.
  • Note #1:  Under Computing (Offices, Labs,) I think the last sentence should be revised to something like, “  To contact Tarleton Technology Help Desk Central, please dial 254-968-9885 locally or 1-866-744-8900 from all other locations.”

Billing & Chargeback

Some ITS services are funded differently than others (i.e. voice, cabling services, and projects).  ITS uses a hosted billing service from A&M called Pinnacle.  Pinnacle tracks one-time, recurring, and call detail records for monthly departmental chargeback.
