News and Events

Approximately 35 Tarleton Education Majors are spending one evening a week tutoring Adult English Language Learners this semester.  Students volunteer for approximately 15-20 hours during the course of the semester.  Students can volunteer at the First United Methodist Church of Stephenville, at the First United Baptist Church of Stephenville, at St. Brendan's Catholic Church of Stephenville or they can find a program in their respective community.

Assistant Professor, Dr. Michele R. Staples, started the Community Service Project in the spring of 2009 in hopes that her students would learn about language acquisition while giving something back to the community.  Dr. Staples hopes to continue offering this community service opportunity to her students.
