This was on our second day of hiking in the Narrows (we had slept in the car that night while Joel was on his hike).  I had one of the scariest experiences of my life up here.  I climbed up and I was going to try and make my way along the rock face behind me.  There was a very narrow .5-.75 inch ledge that I was going to put my toes on.  I went along about 3 feet and I realized I had gone too far and it would be very difficult to get back.  If I fell off I probably would have hit the rock 10-15 feet below and then the shallow river even further.  I panicked a little bit but I said a prayer and managed to  calm down and make my way back.  It still didn't stop me from doing more rock climbing later on though :-D...
