Below is my M-48 Yugoslavian Mauser.  This is the same gun that the Krauts used in WWII, however this gun was manufactured after the war in Yugoslavia.  When I bought it, the wood and metal were full of Cosmoline, a greasy substance used to preserve the guns in storage.  To bake the Cosmoline out, I put the stock in a truck on a hot day with the heater on.  I then sanded and put a finish on the stock...

The M48 fires a rather powerful 8mm cartridge.  The military surplus rounds that I use could probably penetrate 25+ inches of wood.  Needless to say, I have developed a pretty bad flinch after firing this gun...
