PASS

The Program to Acclimate Students to Scholastics (PASS) is designed to serve as a Summer Intensive Program to ease the transition from high school into University life for those students who have been selected to participate. The students eligible must be granted regular admission status and be willing to attend Summer II 2012,  Texan Orientation, & Duck Camp.  PASS provides funding for a participant to enroll in a for-credit college class as well as  room & board as recommended by the PASS selection committee.  The students’ books will be provided as part of the PASS Program and they will have to be returned to Student Success Programs at the conclusion of the Summer session.  For Fall 2012, the applicants must be eligible for full admission to Tarleton State University and be willing to enroll in the PASS Learning Community which includes the DGS 101 - University Seminar course.  Priority consideration will be given to those students who:

  • Have  regular admission status;
  • Complete the FAFSA and qualify for Pell grant support;
  • Are first-generation students, for whom neither parent or legal guardian has graduated from a 4-year college or university; and
  • Have not enrolled in college level course work since high school graduation.
