| Criteria: | This scholarship is given to students based on art performance, academic merit and leadership skills. Established in 2001 by the friends and family of Dr. Cedars. Dr. Cedars was a member of the faculty at Tarleton for many years as a French instructor and was an accomplished artist. Dr. Cedars' group of twelve paintings based on the book "6 Day of Destruction" by Elie Wiesel, an Auschwitz survivor, and Rabbi Albert H. Friedlander, who fled Germany in 1939, has been displayed in New York galleries and many other major cities across the United States. The collection features images from Biblical account of creation and Holocaust individual tragedies. |
