Criteria:	The Agriculture Career Development Scholarship was established in 2004 to recognize outstanding students participating in annual judging contests for high schools students from around the state.

Arlie Brown Memorial Endowed Scholarship

Criteria:	This scholarship is awarded only on academic accomplishment to any senior in a Texas High School or to a previous recipient, if the student maintains an average or above GPA at Tarleton State University. The friends of Dr. Arlie Brown, a Tarleton student, established the Arlie Brown Memorial Endowed Scholarship in 1989. Dr. Brown became a physician and hospital owner in Freer, Texas.

Arthur J. Carter Endowed Scholarship

Criteria:	The recipient shall be a minority student from the Waco, McLennan County area, who has a demonstrated finanicial need (through FAFSA). The minority student selected must be in the top 15% of their high school class and demonstrate evidence of being actively involved in leadership and volunteer opportunities during high school. The minority student selected must also have a minimum gpa of 2.75 (on a 4.0 scale) and/or minimum ACT of 20 or minimum SAT of 950 (math and verbal).

Criteria:	Scholarships will be awarded to students that graduated from or attended De Leon High School for at least one year and those who are currently employed in the De Leon ISD. Carroll and Leta Barham Scholarships

Criteria:	The recipient must maintain a 3.00 current semester GPA and overall GPA. The children of Carroll & Leta Barham established the Carroll & Leta Barham Endowed Scholarship in 1985. It was established as a tribute to the Barham's 50th wedding anniversary, and as a memorial to their son, Dohn, who died of cancer in 1988.

Recipients must be active member and have satisfactory progress in ensembles: Chamber Choir, University Singers or Women's Ensemble. Other requirements will be included in recipients' award letters.

Criteria:	Recipient must be a graduate of any high school in Comanche County. Recipient must demonstrate a need for financial assistance in order to pursue his or her collegiate studies. Recipient must also show a record of active participation in extra-curricular activities if physically able to do so. Recipient must also be a full-time undergraduate student. Former Upward Bound participants are eligible to reapply as long as the student maintained a 2.5 GPA in the preceding semester.

Criteria:	Recipient must be a graduate of De Leon High School in De Leon, TX. Recipient must also demonstrate a reasonable financial need, and be a person who will be enrolled as a full-time student at Tarleton. Recipient can be majoring in any field at Tarleton. Established in October 1994 by Mr. John Caraway of Stephenville to benefit deserving students from DeLeon, Texas.

Dwain & Carolyn Bruner Endowed Scholarship

Criteria:	Recipient selection must be an entering freshman student who is a graduate of an Erath County High School and who has demonstrated a 3.2 GPA while attending High School. The recipient should demonstrate a need for financial assistance in order to be able to pursue his or her collegiate studies. Recipient should also demonstrate strong leadership characteristics. The Dwain & Carolyn Bruner Endowed Scholarship was established in 1999 by the employees of Bruner Motors as a holiday gift to their employer and his wife. The Bruners are longtime residents of Stephenville.

Recipient must also be an initiated brother of Kappa Delta Rho for at least 1 year and overall 1 year involvement with Zeta Beta. Recipient must be in good standing with Zeta Beta with a minimum GPA of 2.25 the previous semester and a 2.5 cumulative GPA. The recipient's overall activity within Zeta Beta Chapter of Kappa Delta Rho, Tarleton State University, and the local community will be looked at for selection. The recipient must show gentlemanly conduct in and outside of Tarleton State University.

Honors Degree Program Scholarship

Criteria:	Incoming freshmen recipients must present SAT scores of 1100 or higher(math and verbal) or ACT score of 24 or higher or top quarter ranking in their graduating class. Returning students must have significant participation in honors courses during their first year at Tarleton State University.

Joy Gallant Archer Memorial Endowed Scholarship

Criteria:	Recipient must show financial need. The scholarship does not apply to those who do not qualify for awards based solely on academic achievements or those based solely on financial need. Recipient must be a full-time student with a GPA of 2.75 and have filed a FASFA at Tarleton. The Joy Gallant Archer Scholarship was established in 1999 by a gift from the will of Joy Gallant Archer. Mrs. Archer, who died at the age of 83, was a private individual who had little formal education and worked hard for what she achieved in life. Mrs. Archer appreciated the financial and moral support she had received from her family throughout her life and felt it was important to set up a system to provide support for young people seeking educational opportunities.

Various donors created the Uta Davis Scholarship as a memorial scholarship. Mrs. Davis was the wife of J. Thomas Davis who served as Dean of John Tarleton Agricultural College during the 1940s.

Virginia Powell Memorial Scholarship

Criteria:	Recipient must be a full-time student, who must maintain a minimum 3.0 GPA. Recipient must also demonstrate leadership abilities in the school and community. First preference will be given to those students from the Selden community with next consideration given to students from Erath County. Recipient must be a Texas resident and a US citizen. Recipient must also demonstrate a good moral character and must not be on academic or disciplinary probation of any type currently or previously at TSU, and must show financial need.

W.J. Wisdom Endowment Scholarship

W.L. & Barbara Nix Erath County Scholarship

Criteria:	Recipient shall be a graduate of any high school in Erath County who has demonstrated a need for financial assistance in order to be able to pursue his or her collegiate studies. In addition, the student must demonstrate a strong desire and commitment to pursue a college degree. The student must also have work experience and a record of active participation in extra-curricular activities if physically able to do so. Former recipients must maintain a cumulative 2.0 GPA and enroll full-time. Recipients must be undergraduate students.

W.L. & Barbara Nix Mills County Scholarship

Criteria:	Recipient must be a graduate from any Mills County High School, who demonstrates financial need. Recipient must demonstrate a strong desire and commitment to pursue a college degree and must also have work experience and a record of active participation in extra-curricular activities if physically able. Recipient must be a full-time undergraduate student at Tarleton State University. Former participants are eligible to apply as long as they have maintained a 2.0 GPA in the preceding year.

W.O. Trogdon Endowment Scholarship

W.P. and Lucille Brummett Endowed Scholarship

Criteria:	Recipient must be a graduate from Hico High School, based on academic record, demonstrated leadership abilities in school and the community, a placed youth within the W.P. and Lucille Youth Ranch Program, citizenship record, and demonstrated moral character.
Selection Process:	Committee composed of the Hico superintendent of schools, the Hico High School principal, and a female member of the Hico High School faculty
