John Caraway Memorial Endowed Nursing Scholarship
Amount: Minimum of $1,250 per semester

Criteria: Recipients must be applicants for a Baccalaureate degree in Nursing at Tarleton and will be selected without regard to age, sex, race or nationality. Recipient must have maintained at least a “B” average in high school to qualify for the award. Established in the will of Mr. John Caraway of Stephenville, Texas in 2000 to assist worthy students. Mr. Caraway retired from Gulf Oil as Accounting Manager of the Midland offices in 1983. Caraway attended Tarleton and earned his Bachelor in Management from Texas Tech University. A native of Reagan County, he was drafted into the military during the Korean conflict and sent to Fort Sam Houston to Medical Field Service School. He was discharged in 1952 and went to work for Gulf at the Fort Worth Division Office in 1953. Mr. Caraway passed away in 2000.
