Criteria: This scholarship will be given to incoming freshmen majoring in the College of Liberal and Fine Arts or the College of Science and Technology ranked in the top 25% percent of their high school class, with a minimum SAT total (math and verbal) 1350 or higher or ACT composite 30 or higher. Recipients must maintain a 3.2 cumulative and current semester GPA and complete 15 hours per semester for continued funding.

Criteria: This scholarship will be given to students majoring in a department in the College of Liberal and Fine Arts or the College of Science and Technology. Incoming students must be ranked in the top 25% of their high school class, have a B+ average on all high school work, and an ACT composite of 25 or higher or a SAT total (math and verbal) 1100 or higher. Returning students must enroll in and complete 15 semester hours and maintain a 3.2 cumulative and semester GPA.

Criteria: This scholarship will be given to full-time students with a declared piano major after a successful piano audition. Recipients must remain enrolled in applied piano lessons, and be enrolled and making satisfactory progress in piano ensemble. Dr. Marie Meisel Cedars Scholarship

Criteria: This scholarship is given to students based on art performance, academic merit and leadership skills. Established in 2001 by the friends and family of Dr. Cedars. Dr. Cedars was a member of the faculty at Tarleton for many years as a French instructor and was an accomplished artist. Dr. Cedars' group of twelve paintings based on the book "6 Day of Destruction" by Elie Wiesel, an Auschwitz survivor, and Rabbi Albert H. Friedlander, who fled Germany in 1939, has been displayed in New York galleries and many other major cities across the United States. The collection features images from Biblical account of creation and Holocaust individual tragedies.

John Caraway Memorial Endowed Music Scholarship

Criteria: This scholarship will be given to full-time, undergraduate students majoring in music (Voice or Instrument) at Tarleton State University. Recipients must have maintained at least a “B” average in high school to qualify for the award and must maintain a 3.0 GPA while in college. This scholarship was established in the will of Mr. John Caraway of Stephenville, Texas in 2000 to assist worthy students. Mr. Caraway retired from Gulf Oil as an Accounting Manager of the Midland offices in 1983. Caraway attended Tarleton and earned his Bachelor in Management from Texas Tech University.

Criteria: This scholarship will be given to students who, with their parent(s) are residents of Runnels County. Recipients must show financial need and major in agriculture, education or music. Recipients must also graduate in the upper quartile of their high school class and maintain an overall GPA of 2.5 or above for all college work attempted. If no eligible applicant from Runnels County then students from the following counties can be considered: Taylor, Coleman, Concho, Tom Green, Coke, or Nolan County. The J.W. & A.E. Bright Endowed Scholarship was established by Frances Allen in 1971 in memory of her parents.

Criteria: This scholarship will be given to students majoring in history or government (political science). Recipients must be incoming freshmen who have an SAT total of 1050 (math and verbal) or higher or an ACT composite of 22 or higher, have a "B' average in high school and enroll in 15 semester college hours for disbursement . If there are not suitable freshmen, then other history or political science majors can be considered with a minimum overall GPA of 3.0. Recipients must enroll in 15 hours each long semester.

Paul & Opal Cunyus Scholarship

Criteria: This scholarship will be given to students majoring in fine arts, education and/or horticulture. Freshman recipients must demonstrate financial need, be accepted to Tarleton, and have passed all parts of the TASP (now THEA) test. Upper division recipients must have a minimum GPA of 2.75, show financial need, demonstrate participation in leadership training and extra curricular activities. Established in December 1995 by Mr. Paul Cunyus and family. Mr. Cunyus came to Tarleton in the early 1920s from his home in East Texas. He completed two years at John Tarleton Agriculture College majoring in agriculture. Upon graduation he transferred to Texas A&M, where he received his bachelor and master degrees. After World War II he returned to Tarleton as the associate dean and served in that capacity for 25 years. He retired in the early 1970s. Mr. Cunyus passed away in 1996. His wife, Opal, preceded him in death.

Deadline: February 15th (fall/academic year) or December 1st (spring) - priority deadlines
Criteria: This scholarship will be given to students majoring in agriculture with teacher certification, fine arts with certification or education. Recipients must show financial need, maintain full-time student status or 6 semester hours for non-traditional students, and maintain a 2.75 GPA. High school graduates must meet requirements for “regular” admissions and demonstrate scholastic ability.

Winnie McAnelly-Fiedler Memorial Scholarship

Deadline: February 15th (fall/academic year) or December 1st (spring) - priority deadlines
Criteria: Recipient must be a student majoring in History (or equivalent program) from Mineral Wells, Gustine, or Brady High School. Incoming Freshman: 1. must have a minimum SAT score of 1000 and/or ACT score of 22. 2. high school GPA of a “B” must be in top 1/3 of graduating class. 3. enrolled in at least 15 hours during semester of disbursement. 4. declared major in history. Current Undergraduates: 1. minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0. 2. enrollment in at least 15 hours during the semester of disbursement. 3. declared major in history. Graduate Students: 1. minimum GRE score of 1000 (or at least 600 in Verbal section). 2. undergraduate GPA of 3.0 (and 3.5 for all history courses). 3. graduate GPA (if already attending TSU) of 3.5. 4. enrollment in at least 12 hours during semester of disbursement. 5. declared major in history.
