Agricultural Services & Development Alumni Endowed Scholarship

Criteria:	This scholarship will be given to a full-time student majoring in the area of agricultural services and development, seeking initial certification through traditional coursework, demonstrating strong leadership skills, and an expressed interest in teaching. Preference will be given to an active member of the Tarleton Collegiate FFA chapter. The committee will take into consideration financial need and academic success.

Alex Price & Ruby Fambro Scholarship in Agriculture & Rodeo

Criteria:	This scholarship will be given to a student majoring in agriculture and participating in rodeo. For the agriculture portion, the recipient must be majoring in an area of agriculture, must maintain at least a 3.0 GPA, and maintain their major in the field of agriculture. For the rodeo portion, the recipient must satisfactorily participate as a member of the Tarleton Rodeo Association and maintain at least a 2.5 GPA.

Criteria:	This scholarship is awarded to students majoring in agriculture (1st preference) or environmental engineering (2nd preference). If neither major exists or if there is not a qualified student, the scholarship may be available to all majors equally and it could be used for the Presidential Honors Program.

Birdwell and family.

Criteria:	Recipient(s) must be a permanent citizen of the U.S., undergraduate sophomore, junior, or senior level student majoring in Animal Science with an emphasis in Dairy Science, have a minimum overall GPA of 2.5, completed 30 semester hours at Tarleton, and maintain an Animal Science (Dairy Science emphasis) major at Tarleton throughout the duration of the scholarship. The recipient must also be enrolled as a full-time student maintaining a minimum course load of 12 semester hours during a fall or spring semester throughout the duration of the scholarship. This scholarship was established in 1995 by the COBA/Select Sires, Inc.

This scholarship was established in 2000 to honor 1938 Tarleton graduate, former teacher and Vice President Emeritus, Dr. Joe W. Autry by his family and friends.

Josephine Garrett Donaldson Scholarship

Criteria:	This scholarship will be given to students majoring in human sciences. Recipients must have a good academic record, show leadership abilities, demonstrate financial need, have good moral character and be a Texas resident. This scholarship was established in 2001 by the family of Mrs. Josephine Donaldson to honor her lifetime dedication to her family and friends. Mrs. Donaldson attended Tarleton from 1943 to 1945 majoring in home economics.

Criteria:	This scholarship will be given to students who, with their parent(s) are residents of Runnels County. Recipients must show financial need and major in agriculture, education or music. Recipients must also graduate in the upper quartile of their high school class and maintain an overall GPA of 2.5 or above for all college work attempted. If no eligible applicant from Runnels County then students from the following counties can be considered: Taylor, Coleman, Concho, Tom Green, Coke, or Nolan County. The J.W. & A.E. Bright Endowed Scholarship was established by Frances Allen in 1971 in memory of her parents.

Criteria:	The recipient shall be a full-time undergraduate student, junior or senior classification, with first preference given to students in the Family Consumer Sciences Teacher Education program with a 2.5 cumulative GPA. Admission to the Teacher Education program is not a requirement for selection.

Otho & Ellen Phillips Endowed Scholarship

Criteria:	This scholarship will be given to full-time students majoring in a field of agriculture with preference given to students whose parents are non-college degree holders. Recipients must be a permanent U.S. citizens, demonstrate financial need, have a minimum overall GPA of 2.75 and have completed 30 semester hours at TSU. Recipients should be from Comanche, Brown & contiguous counties within the north-central part of Texas. Contiguous counties include: Erath, Bosque, Eastland, Hamilton, Mills, Coleman, San Saba, McCullouch, and Callahan Counties.

Paul & Opal Cunyus Scholarship

Criteria:	This scholarship will be given to students majoring in fine arts, education and/or horticulture. Freshman recipients must demonstrate financial need, be accepted to Tarleton, and have passed all parts of the TASP (now THEA) test. Upper division recipients must have a minimum GPA of 2.75, show financial need, demonstrate participation in leadership training and extra curricular activities. Established in December 1995 by Mr. Paul Cunyus and family. Mr. Cunyus came to Tarleton in the early 1920s from his home in East Texas. He completed two years at John Tarleton Agriculture College majoring in agriculture. Upon graduation he transferred to Texas A&M, where he received his bachelor and master degrees. After World War II he returned to Tarleton as the associate dean and served in that capacity for 25 years. He retired in the early 1970s. Mr. Cunyus passed away in 1996. His wife, Opal, preceded him in death.

Criteria:	This scholarship will be given to a student majoring in soil and crop sciences or a closely related agricultural field who is a Texas resident. The recipient must maintain a 3.0 overall GPA.

Wichita Farm & Ranch Club Scholarship

Criteria:	This scholarship will be given to a student majoring in an agricultural field of study at Tarleton State University. The recipient must enroll as a full-time student, be a senior level student with at least 30 hours completed at Tarleton State University and maintain a 2.5 GPA. Selection will be based scholarship, achievement, character and need. Preference will be given to students from the Wichita Falls trade territory.

Willie L. & Eve K. Tate Endowment Fund Scholarship

Deadline:	February 15th (fall/academic year) or December 1st (spring) - priority deadlines
Criteria:	This scholarship will be given to students majoring in agriculture with teacher certification, fine arts with certification or education. Recipients must show financial need, maintain full-time student status or 6 semester hours for non-traditional students, and maintain a 2.75 GPA. High school graduates must meet requirements for “regular” admissions and demonstrate scholastic ability.
