Agricultural Services & Development Alumni Endowed Scholarship

For the rodeo portion, the recipient must satisfactorily participate as a member of the Tarleton Rodeo Assn. and maintain at least a 2.5 GPA.

Birdsong Hydrology Endowment

Criteria:	The recipient must maintain a minimum GPA of 3.4 on 15 semester hours, first preference to students majoring in Hydrology. If no suitable applications are received from Hydrology majors, preference will then be given to applicants with agriculture-related major fields. The recipient must also be an incoming freshman with a minimum SAT score of 1100 (math and verbal) and/or ACT of 26, have financial need and exhibit leadership qualities and a desire to participate in University activities.

COBA/Select Sires, Inc. Agriculture Scholarship

Criteria:	Recipient(s) must be a permanent citizen of the U.S., undergraduate sophomore, junior, or senior level student majoring in Animal Science with an emphasis in Dairy Science, have a minimum overall GPA of 2.5, completed 30 semester hours at Tarleton, and maintain an Animal Science (Dairy Science emphasis) major at Tarleton throughout the duration of the scholarship. The recipient must also be enrolled as a full-time student maintaining a minimum course load of 12 semester hours during a fall or spring semester throughout the duration of the scholarship. This scholarship was established in 1995 by the COBA/Select Sires, Inc.

Established in 2000 in honor of 1938 Tarleton graduate, former teacher and Vice President Emeritus, Dr. Joe W. Autry by his family and friends. The scholarship is awarded to a student majoring in Agriculture.

John S. Chapin Young Farmers Endowed Scholarship

Josephine Garrett Donaldson Scholarship

Criteria:	Recipient must have a good academic record, show leadership abilities and show financial need. Recipient must have a good moral character and be a Texas resident. This scholarship was established in 2001 by the family of Mrs. Josephine Donaldson to honor her lifetime dedication to her family and friends. Mrs. Donaldson attended Tarleton from 1943 to 1945 majoring in Home Economics. The scholarship is awarded to a Human Science major.

Criteria:	Recipient must be students who, with their parent(s) are residents of Runnels County. Recipient(s) must show financial need and major in Agriculture, Education or Music. If no eligible applicant from Runnels County then students from the following counties can be considered: Taylor, Coleman, Concho, Tom Green, Coke, or Nolan County. Recipient must graduate in the upper quartile of their high school class and maintain an overall GPA of 2.5 or above for all college work attempted. The J.W. & A.E. Bright Endowed Scholarship was established by Frances Allen in 1971 in memory of her parents.

Criteria:	The recipient shall be a full-time undergraduate student, junior or senior classification, with first preference given to students in the Family Consumer Sciences Teacher Education program with a 2.5 cumulative GPA. Second preference given to General Human Science majors with a 3.0 cumulative GPA, with serious consideration to those students in the Extension area. Admission to the Teacher Education program is not a requirement for selection.

Paul & Opal Cunyus Scholarship

Criteria:	Freshman recipients must demonstrate financial need, must complete admission application and obtain acceptance to Tarleton, must pass all parts of the TASP (now THEA) test, must be a Fine Arts, Education, and/or Horticulture major. Upper division recipients must demonstrate academic performance (minimum GPA of 2.75), must show financial need, show involvement in leadership training and extra curricular activities, and must be a Fine Arts, Education, and/or Horticulture major. Established in December 1995 by Mr. Paul Cunyus and family. Mr. Cunyus came to Tarleton in the early 1920s from his home in East Texas. He completed two years at John Tarleton Agriculture College majoring in Agriculture. Upon graduation he transferred to Texas A&M, where he received his bachelor and master degrees. After World War II he returned to Tarleton as the associate dean and served in that capacity for 25 years. He retired in the early 1970s. Mr. Cunyus passed away in 1996. His wife, Opal, preceded him in death.

Preference will be given to students from the Wichita Falls trade territory.
