STEPHENVILLE, Texas—A representative from ExxonMobil will visit the campus April 25 to meet with faculty and geoscience students, and collect résumés.

“My goal is to find qualified candidates for a career at ExxonMobil,” said Tessa Johnston, geotechnical advisor and early career program coordinator. “I find that Tarleton State offers degree programs that are right in line with what our various business units have communicated their needs to be in regard to geoscience technical skill.”

Johnston added that two recent Tarleton graduates who work for ExxonMobil would accompany her to discuss their experiences.

“We are always grateful when employers intentionally recruit from Tarleton State University, no matter the size of the organization,” said Alana Hefner, director of career services. “To have a corporation of the magnitude in ExxonMobil request a campus visit for a second year in a row validates the greatness of our students and academic programs,” said Alana Hefner, director of career services.

Dr. Arthur Low, professor of chemistry, geoscience and environmental science, said ExxonMobil “must be very happy with (recent hires from Tarleton) since they are coming back to recruit more students. It is exciting that a company as large as ExxonMobil sees Tarleton students as potential candidates for employment.”
