STEPHENVILLE, Texas—Parking lot P-36, located at the corner of Jones and Lillian streets just north of the Barry B. Thompson Student Center, will temporarily close for two days this weekend.

Officials with the university’s Parking Services Department announced plans to close the western portion of lot P-36 at 5 p.m., Friday, March 1. The parking lot will be closed all day Saturday and Sunday with plans to re-open P-36 by 6 p.m. on Sunday, March 3.

All students who are on-campus residents that are currently using the parking lot are asked to vacate P-36 by 5 p.m. Friday, and park their vehicles in any other campus Red or Purple Zone “commuter” lot until the barricades are removed.

Approximately 160 parking spaces in P-36 will be affected during the temporary closure. Barricades will be placed at the lot’s five entrances preventing motorists from entering the west side of P-36.

The lot closure is required for a construction review survey being conducted on Saturday and Sunday in anticipation of a future residential hall on the property.
