STEPHENVILLE, Texas—The second issue of Cross Timbers Trails magazine will be available Dec. 14. The magazine covers lifestyle, events and travel in the counties that make up the region: Bosque, Comanche, Eastland, Erath, Hamilton, Hood, Palo Pinto and Somervell.

Tarleton students write and edit the stories, shoot the pictures, sell ads and design the magazine. Most students are communication studies majors.

“I'm most excited about the whole finished product,” said the editor, senior communication major Kayla Fritz. “Everyone has stepped up their game for the second issue and I'm excited to have so many different students have a published product within the magazine.”

The current issue focuses on undiscovered gems of the region, Fritz said, such as art galleries and specialty shops.

Besides Fritz, other staff members include designers Rhyland Pittenger and Megan Kramer, and Lauren Wright, promotions director.

“Our students continue to impress,” said adviser Dan Malone, a communication studies instructor. “Kayla and the team produced a professional-level magazine on top of all of their other scholastic achievements.”

The magazine is available at all the story locations, county courthouses and the advertisers’ locations. The magazine is also online at
