STEPHENVILLE, Texas—Dr. Adolfo Benavides, dean of the College of Business Administration, completed a 160-mile bike ride in May to raise money for the college's scholarship fund. The fundraising effort garnered almost $5,000.

Benavides was accompanied by Cary Winsett, adjunct faculty member in the Department of Management, Marketing and Administrative Systems, for 124 miles of the ride.

The ride took Benavides almost 11 hours to complete on a course that consisted of multiple loops from Lingleville to Dublin.

Originally planned for the fall, the ride was postponed due to weather, illness and personal loss. The dean dedicated his ride on Mother’s Day to his mother, who passed away in the winter.

Benavides said he was excited to have “raised some funds for the further development of our COBA students and faculty” and also “having tried to promote a healthy and active lifestyle.”
