A&M System Chancellor visits campus

Oct. 27, 2009

Mike McKinney, Chancellor for the Texas A&M University System, was on campus Oct. 27. The purpose of his visit was to evaluate President Dottavio’s first year at the helm of Tarleton.

The Chancellor met with faculty, staff and students during his one-day visit. McKinney also had the unique opportunity to experience TREAT’s Special Kids’ Rodeo.

McKinney and Dottavio had a wonderful time seeing the joy the event brought into the children’s lives.

“These are my people,” McKinney said. In his spare time, the Chancellor enjoys being outdoors, working on his farm, in his garden or hunting or fishing. According to Janet Smalley, McKinney’s chief of staff, that is how the Chancellor’s prefers to relax.
