Tarleton's Distinguished Picnic honored employees
STEPHENVILLE, TX - Tarleton State University administrators, faculty and staff gathered recently for the 2005 Distinguished Service Picnic which celebrates the completion of another successful academic year. Hosted by the Office of the President, the annual event brings together the extended University family for food and fellowship while recognizing employees who have reached milestones in their service to the University.
Among those recognized for their longevity were five who have been working at Tarleton for 35 years and four who have been at the University for 30 years. Trudy Carlson, Division Head, Dick Smith Library; Jerry W. Graham, Vice President of Finance and Administration; Mary Howard, Senior Staff Accountant, Business Services; Dr. Jimmy McCoy, Professor and Chair, Department chair of Mathematics and Physics; and Howard Nance, faculty, Department of Chemistry and Geoscience; received their 35 year plaques from Tarleton President Dr. Dennis P. McCabe.
Reaching the 30 year mark at Tarleton were Dr. Kenneth Dan Collins, Professor, Computer Information Systems; Dr. Donald E. Keith, Professor, Biological Sciences; Carol Carr Moring, Administrative Secretary, Agricultural Services and Development; and Dr. Robert Newby, Professor and Department Chair, Educational Administration, Counseling and Psychology.
Twenty-five year plaques went to Jane B. Dickson, Dick Smith Library; Randy Hines, Animal Sciences; John T. Laird, Informational Resources; Vickie S. McCamey, Informational Resources; Jeanne McEndree, President''s office; and Mike Moser, Finance and Administration.
Eleven members of the Tarleton family were honored for 20 years service to Tarleton. They include William L. Beaty, Accounting, Finance and Economy; Sandra Beaty, English and Languages; Dr. Ann Calahan, Curriculum and Instruction; Richard Denning, Fine Arts and Communication; Nancy Ann Earnest, Business Services; Rusty Jergins, Student Life; May Y. Kunishige, Business Services; Esther Otwell, English and Languages; Dr. Randy Rosiere, Agribusiness, Agronomy, Horticulture and Range Management; and Patricia E. Smith, Clinical Lab Sciences. Dr. Randall L. Popken, English and Languages,
was honored posthumously.
Tarleton employees reaching the 15 year service mark included Gregory L. Ball, Ruth M. Cawyer, Freddie G. Childress, Karen C. deFranchi, Chris DeLeon, Nancy T. Easterling, Deana Gage, Rhonda A. Holman, Gary W. James, Ron D. Jones, Lisa M. Lewis, Dr. Mark Littleton, Dr. Arthur Low, Mary K. Mooney, Arlene Murray, Sandra M. Olivan, Dr. Barry M. Shipman, Joe D. Standridge, Rea Standridge, Donna Strohmeyer, Mike Tate, Jodee A. Tennyson, Aaron J. Wand, and Catherine J. Wilterding.
Recognized for ten years of service to Tarleton were Bonnie J. Baker, Dr. Maria M. Bohm, Frank Burney, Morris C. Couch, Samuel L. Davis, Auther M, Dearing, Dr. Jane Dennis, Robert H. Dixon Jr., Darla K. Doty, Helen Eklund, Leslie Gaddy, William P. Holloway and David L. Hooks.
Also Suresh Katuri, Linda LaMarca, Janice Lingle Sneed, Randy C. Martin, Mark A. Murphy, DeAnna Powell, Toni J. Rhodes, Dr. Elisabeth Riggs, T.R. Robinson, Ray Savage, Wanda A. Sneed, Alan L. Solsbery, Dr. Leslie Stanley-Stevens and Barbara C. Stewart.
