Cliburn Piano Competition Preview

Three outstanding young classical pianists, two from Russia, one from
Poland, all students of renown TCU professor, Dr. Tamas Ungar, have been
invited to audition for the international Cliburn Piano Competition held in
Fort Worth this spring.

Music at Acton is pleased to present these three pianists in concert
Saturday night, February 9 at 7:00 pm in downtown Granbury at the Langdon
Center Concert Hall, corner of Bridge and Brazos Streets.

A free will offering will be accepted at the door.
The Concert Hall has limited seating so be sure to arrive early!

The Cliburn Piano Competition is one of the premier piano competitions in
the world.  Held every 4 years it has launched many a talented young pianist
on the road to a successful professional career.  The contest is named for
Van Cliburn, iconic Fort Worth musician and arts supporter, and the first
American to win the venerable Tchaikovsky Piano Competition in Moscow during
the Cold War 50's.

Auditions for the 2013 Cliburn will be held in Fort Worth later in February.
The concert In Granbury will give these 3 young pianists a chance to play
for an audience before their audition.  And it will give Lake Granbury area
residents an opportunity to say "we heard them when..."!

Please join the audience for this rare event to hear young musicians at the
top of their game play their hearts out with the music of Chopin,
Rachmaninoff, Tchaikovsky and more!
