Flute Studio Recital: Celtic Folk Journeys

The Tarleton State University Flute Studio and friends will present Celtic Folk Journeys, a concert featuring the music of Ireland, Scotland, and Wales, on Tuesday, March 5 at 7:30 PM in the Theater of the Clyde H. Wells Fine Arts Center at Tarleton State University.  This concert will feature student arrangements of traditional folk pieces for flute, tin whistle, Irish flute, and recorder, as well as other traditional Celtic instruments, modern instruments, and vocalists.  A special arrangement of Emilie's Tears will be performed in honor of Celtic musician Harriet Emilie Erwin who recently passed away due to complications of Lyme Disease.  The concert is free.  Donations will be accepted in the lobby for the Texas Lyme Disease Association and a special display with educational material on tick-borne diseases will be available as well.
